From medicine technology to arts

92 years ago, on August 6, 1928, Andy Warhol was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With a snapshot of Docon®7 blood donation controllers we want to point out the connection between medical technology and art. In fact, there are some surprising similarities and overlaps between the work of artists and engineers or designers developing new technologies.

Both, for example, require a completely inspirational working attitude and a high degree of diligence. Both technology and art change our perception and try to transform current rules into new ones. Therefore creativity is the key word. Creative people like scientists and artists explore standards of knowledge in materials, culture, history and try to transform them into something new. It is obvious that Leonardo DaVinci or Andy Warhol on the one hand and Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen or Marie Curie on the other hand had to explore circumstances in their own way to create an overwhelming new state of the art (or science?)

Medical technology and art determine each other in order to find solutions to current problems.

Our solution for both stationary and mobile blood donation is Docon®7. It is user-friendly and very simple to operate. The extended data management system allows a documentation of the whole donation process. Via Docon®Network we register and document the donation process electronically and you´ll only have one file for the collected data. Mistakes, made by manual data collection, can be avoided and patient`s safety is increased.
