German Medical Award 2025: Möller Medical honoured as best product in the ‘Health Care Sector’ with VacStent GI™

Fulda / Düsseldorf  – Möller Medical GmbH and its subsidiary VAC Stent GmbH are delighted to have won the German Medical Award 2025 in the category ‘Health Care Sector – Product’. The award was given for the innovative product VacStent GI™. The award ceremony took place during this year’s gala at the Haus der Ärzteschaft in Düsseldorf, where Managing Director Dr Andreas Bacher and Senior Product Manager Dirk Schlecht were present in person to accept the award on behalf of the company.

Since 2015, the German Medical Award has been one of the most prestigious awards in the German-speaking healthcare sector. VacStent – a modern solution for gastrointestinal leaks

VacStent GI™ combines endoluminal vacuum therapy (EVT) with a fully covered nitinol stent. The sponge integrated into the stent and the drainage catheter enable continuous suction of wound exudate, while the stent securely seals the leak and maintains passage in the gastrointestinal tract.

The solution thus combines the advantages of both established therapeutic approaches in a single system. The aim is to significantly reduce morbidity and mortality in the treatment of anastomotic insufficiency and gastrointestinal leaks while improving patient care.
